Attn: Students! Attend info sessions during enrichment throughout October and November to learn more about how you can earn a 2017 Global Navigator Scholarship! For specific questions, please contact our designated CIEE contact, Tim Rogers, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Payton – CIEE Global Navigator Scholarship Fund: For the third consecutive year, Payton is designated as a Global Navigator Scholarship school with the Center for International Education Exchange (CIEE). Last summer, 20 Payton global scholars joined CIEE, stepping into different cultures around the world for close to 1 month: Madrid, Spain; Nanjing, China; Dublin, Ireland; Tokyo, Japan; Toulouse, France; Kralendijk, Bonaire; Santiago and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; and Berlin, Germany.
These 20 Payton students received $77,800 in scholarships, dramatically offsetting the cost of travel and nearly eliminating it for some!
- December 1: Early application deadline for students to submit online program and scholarship application (75% of funds are awarded by that date, so we encourage you to meet the deadline)
- December 10: Students notified of program acceptance and scholarship award
- December 30: Deadline for students to accept or decline awards
- February 1: Final program application deadline
These scholarships are intended to open the world to students, help them navigate across languages, connect with other cultures, and develop global competencies to thrive in today’s interconnected world. Global Navigator Scholarships earmark $25,000 for Payton students to study abroad during the summer. This is in addition to the over $1 million in scholarships available nationwide.
Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who elect to apply to one of 30 CIEE Summer High School Abroad programs will be considered for the awards, based on both merit and need. Programs are in the summer and range from 3 to 4 weeks and include language/cultural immersion, community service, and varied academic programs including science and global entrepreneurship.
