Come to the Chicago Cultural Center on Sunday, August 23rd from 3-5pm for a free screening of the film "Redefining Opportunity," made by Eva Lewis, Chicago area participant in CIEE's summer study abroad program in France.
From Eva Lewis, Creator:
"The film follows different students in my study abroad program as they discuss privilege, the ideal student who travels abroad and how they fit that narrative, and what the opportunity to be outside the United States actually means to them. The themes of race, privilege, and socioeconomic class are all explored.
At the gallery there will be performances by other artists who will share pieces that touch on these issues."
In collaboration with Chicago Public Schools, the University of Chicago hosts this full-immersion language program focused in Arabic or Mandarin for CPS high school students.
