WorldChicago attendees will have the opportunity to discuss democracy and politics with twelve politicians and party officials from India. This delegation will be in Chicago through the U.S. Department of State International Visitor Leadership Program. The delegates are in the U.S. to examine the federalist system of government and the electoral and campaign system.
After a brief introduction of the group, the delegates will be broken into 4 smaller groups to discuss the following topics:
- Comparisons of democracy in India and the U.S.
- Differences between the parliamentary and electoral systems
- Current political issues in India
- Current political climate in the U.S.
